Problems of data duplication and the reconciliation of system balances, mean that the reporting output becomes spreadsheet based.
Data entered or linked to the spreadsheet at detail level may become incomplete as new account codes or other coding analysis is added to the financial database meaning that the reports, at activity, cost centre, profit centre or even across multiple financial databases may not agree to the top-level income and expenditure or balance sheet reports for the business as a whole.
